DESCRIPTION

William "Billy" Jamieson fonds [artifacts and photographic materials] circa 1987-1989.

William “Billy” Jamieson (1954-2011) was a Toronto-based dealer and collector of tribal art and antiquities, as well as pop culture curiosities. He sold artifacts to institutions such as the Royal Onatrio Musueum in Toronto and The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New york.

Majority of this material is related to the special effects production of "Dead Ringers" (1988), specifically a scene involving a mechanical puppet of a parasitic twin, which was not included in the final film. All three artifacts and 129 photographic materials relate to this film title. The remaining 58 photographic materials relate to the special effects production of "Graveyard Shift" (1990) and the construction of a large bat-like creature.
