DESCRIPTION

Richard Nielsen fonds [artifacts, printed matter, textual materials, photographic materials]; circa 1980s.

Richard Nielsen (1928-2014) was a Canadian producer and media executive who started his career as a program organizer at the CBC. His most notable film and television production credits include "The Wars", "Waiting for the Parade", "Labour of Love" (which he also wrote), and "Billy Bishop goes to War".

Collection contains film stills from "Labour of Love" (1985) and "The Wars" (1983), both Canadian film productions from the 1980s. The collection also includes a periodical, script, and prop from "The Wars".

Materials donated in memory of Richard Nielsen by Gina Binetti, also a Canadian producer, as well as director, picture editor and production manager. Based in Toronto, Ontario, she has worked on numerous documentaries, as well as television, feature films and commercials.
