Julian Roffman fonds [ artifacts, graphic, textual]; circa 1961-1989
Julian Roffman (1919-2000) was a Canadian film producer most well known for his work on b-movies and horror films. Born in Montreal, Quebec, Roffman studied film in New York. In the 1940's he was responsible for the NFB's Armed Services Production program. He is most well known for two low budget horror films, The Bloody Brood (1959) and The Eyes of Hell/ The Mask (1961). The Mask is significant for being the first Canadian feature length film to make use of 3D technology and one of the first Canadian features in the horror genre.
The fonds contain materials related to The Eyes of Hell/ The Mask (1961), The Glove (1979), and various productions that Roffman was involved with writing or producing.
