Liaison of Independent Filmmakers of Toronto fonds [graphic materials, posters, printed matter, textual materials, moving images: video, electronic and digital records] circa 1978-2011

The Liaison of Independent Filmmakers of Toronto (LIFT) is a Toronto-based artist-run organization committed to supporting independent filmmaking work through various points of affordable and hands-on education and production resources, such as: equipment loans, screening series, workshops, and the circulation of a monthly newsletter/periodical (1985-2007). Beginning in 1981 as a small collective of independent filmmakers, LIFT has since grown to become Canada's leading artist-run organization dedicated to providing access to celluloid filmmaking practices. Current and past members of LIFT include Atom Egoyan, Mike Hoolboom, Bruce McDonald, and Midi Onodera.

This collection contains printed, textual, and audiovisual materials pertaining to the organizational activities of LIFT, including: internal documents, press clippings, editions of the LIFT Newsletter/FilmPrint periodical, as well as videorecordings of independent films, screenings series, and workshops.
