Jeremy Podeswa fonds [moving images, textual records, graphic materials]; circa 1973 - 1999.
Jeremy Podeswa (1962-) is a Canadian film and television director, best known for his features "The Five Senses" (1999) and "Fugitive Pieces" (2007). Raised in Toronto, Ontario and a graduate of Ryerson University's Film Studies program, he is part of the Toronto New Wave. His early career included work as a film publicist, and he has also written several films. More recently his television directing work has included "Six Feet Under" (2001-2005), "Queer as Folk" (2001-2004), "The Pacific" (2010), and "Game of Thrones" (2011-).
Records created by Jeremy Podeswa and his related production companies including Rebelfilms, Fire Dog Films, The Five Senses Productions Inc. The fonds includes comprehensive documentation related to the production of "Standards" (1990) and "Eclipse" (1994). These include scripts; development and research files; production files containing correspondence, accounting, technical logs, schedules dubbing charts; location, casting and continuity photographs; and film and sound elements; records pertaining to earlier short films; research, development files, and scripts for "Rebel Girls" (unrealized), editors’ dailies videotapes, technical paperwork, and some production files for the most recent production, "The Five Senses".
In addition to records pertaining to productions directed by Jeremy Podeswa, the fonds documents his work as a publicist on "Dead Ringers" (1998), "Car 54" (1994), "CODCO" , "Masala", "I Love a Man in Uniform" (1993), "Zero Patience" (1993), and others. Collaborations represented in these records include David Roche, Al McGee, Peter Mettler, Cambium Film and Video Productions, The Clichettes, and others.
